What is Hosted Telephony?
Hosted Telephony, also known as Cloud Telephony is where organisations access business telephony as a service. Effectively the capability of the PBX is delivered as a service from the cloud delivering comprehensive telephony functionality directly to each extension regardless of location. This solution enables organisations to significantly improve the functionality they require on a pay-as-you-use basis including Advanced Hosted Telephony, Collaboration, Mobile Integration and Contact Centre capabilities.
What are IP phones?
IP Phones are physical devices, similar to a standard telephone, that connects to your standard IP network and either leverage proprietary VoIP protocols or SIP to deliver Voice over IP calls to this device. Cisco IP phones are used for the deployment of Enterprise level solutions, whereas Business solutions can have a mixed variety in IP or VoIP handset.
What is PBX?
PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange which is a telephone system used by businesses to enable multiple, identifiable extensions, to connect to a collection of external network connections. The PBX enables extensions to be configured for each user, and for these users to accept and make external calls as well as extension to extension calls. A PBX normally provides a number of additional features such as hold, transfer, conference as well as supporting company directories.

Do i need Broadband or Lease line?
To use a hosted solution you would need ideally a dedicated broadband line in to the premise, or if you have a lease line already installed then we can work with your current provider to partition it for use with our solutions. Sharing a broadband connection would not provide quality. We provide complete end-to-end solutions. Our worldwide strategic partnerships give us access to the best in breed optimised broadband and data products which we can supply you with.
Can i keep my number?
Yes, we can port your phone numbers onto AvecTelecoms hosted telephony platform, or you can add new numbers.
The porting process takes approximately 2-4 weeks and is dependent on how quickly your current provider releases the phone numbers.
What costs are associated with the phone system?
We offer business IP Phones and devices at competitive prices so you don’t have to break the bank to get your complete business phone system. All IP phones purchased from AvecTelecom come pre-configured, saving you the hassle of manually setting them up! Contact us to check if your number can be ported. Once we have confirmed that your number is portable, we will ask you to complete the porting forms (two forms) and return them to us. Once we have recieved these we will request the porting fee.

If your thinking about cancelling your telephony solution we can assist you with this, all of over packages have a 14 day cancelation policy, or if the system is outside the contract agreement we can organise the cancellation for you, subject to cancellation charges.

It all depends on what type of internet connection you have. Generally speaking, most standard internet connections are fine for general data traffic for normal work based activities, however when you add a VoIP telephony system to it the quality can be reduced, resulting in poor quality. Something that not all telephony providers make you aware off!
We can provide you with a separate Internet line, we supply our own service which is managed and maintained by us so we can guarantee quality.
Alternatively, you might want to consider having a Lease Line installed for all your data traffic. This has the power to deliver all of your data traffic, including telephony. Contact us to find out more.

Depending on your setup, you may require our recommend Cisco routers for best voice quality and security. The recommend setup requires a Cisco grade router and switch, again depending on the volume of users, in most cases for small business users, you get get away with just the router and either us the existing switches or router it self to manage your phones.
